Jevay Grooms is a Visiting Instructor of Economics at Pomona College. She joined the department from the University of Florida where she will graduate with her PhD in Economics in the Spring 2016.
Grooms’ research focuses broadly on factors which impede the effectiveness of various health policies as they relate to underrepresented communities. Her dissertation work focuses primarily on the health limitations caused by the World Trade Organization’s trade policies regarding pharmaceutical drugs. Some of her current research aims to estimate the impact nutritional education has on health outcomes of school age children. More recently she began collaborating with the comprehensive cancer center, City of Hope in Durate, California to help better understand how to meet the needs of underrepresented communities they serve.
