Dr. Jody Valentine is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Classics at Pomona College.  Current projects include an essay on the afterlife of Sappho titled “What is a Classic?” and teaching liberatory courses on topics including Gender and Sexuality in Ancient Greece and Rome, Philosophy of Education — Ancient and Modern, and (coming fall of 2021), Classical Mythology with Pitzer College Professor Michelle Berenfeld.

In April of 2021, the Queer Resource Center of the Claremont Colleges recognized Dr. Valentine for continued support of and commitment to the queer community as a faculty leader and mentor.
