The Frank P. Brackett Observatory has been Claremont’s gateway to the sky since 1908. Since then our observatory has been expanded and renovated to include a multimedia classroom, computer-controlled 14″ telescopes and modern electronic CCD cameras.

Every year, the department runs a number of open houses when the campus and general public are invited to come up to the observatory and observe the sky through the main telescopes.

We host, weather permitting, public events during every noteworthy astronomical event observable from Claremont like solar and lunar eclipses, meteor showers, planetary transits.
